Studies suggest significant benefits to using copper horseshoes

Studies conducted by the University of Santiago have demonstrated copper’s superior qualities to standard aluminium horseshoes.

Copper contains natural antimicrobial qualities, and as antimicrobial drugs are already oversubscribed the introduction of copper horseshoes to prevent bacterial and fungal infections could prove effective.

Copper horseshoes could be of particular use to the One Health Initiative in reducing the need for antimicrobial drugs.
